Dr. Phil S. Yang, Chairman
He established the Seoul Chinatown Development Committee (“SCDC”) and Seoul Chinatown Development Co., Ltd. to develop the first planned modern and green Chinatown in the Seoul Metropolitan Area. Under his leadership, the SCDC spearheaded the movement to establish the green card system in Korea. He is also a Professor at Konkuk University; founder of MChinatown Co., Ltd., a venture company to set up the first cyber Chinatown; and Ambassador for Investment for Qingdao City, Shandong Province, PRC.
Kuo Hsing Liu, President
He was invited by Dr. Phil Yang to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of Seoul Chinatown Development Co., Ltd. He is also the founding member and Co-Chairman of the Seoul Chinatown Development Committee along with Dr. Yang. Not only is he a respected leader in the ethnic Chinese community in Korea, but he is also a successful businessman running a food supply company for three generations. He served as the President of the Seoul Ethnic Chinese Organization, the largest ethnic Chinese organization in Korea, for two terms.
Dr. Sang Kyu Lee, CEO & Representative Director
As Vice-President of Seoul Chinatown Development Co., Ltd., he was responsible for controlling architects and engineers. He was instrumental in securing permits and approvals necessary for the completion of the Ilsan Chinatown project. Thanks to his efforts to illustrate the unique characteristics of the project, the municipal government provided it with land in the prime location of Ilsan, a new town in the Seoul Metropolitan Area at below-the-market prices with favorable payment terms. He is also Associate Director of Seoul Center for Chinese Studies.
